We welcome you to read the thoughts and sentiments of some of our upper level graduates. See what they think, and read about their experiences with Voices For All from their own personal perspective. Students from all over the country choose to start and further their career in the voiceover industry with VFA, and we are proud to display some of their feelings about us here in their own words, unedited. Some students even choose to send us success updates. Please visit our Success Updates section to view them. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or inquiries you may have.

After your Master Class, I went home feeling that I had found a real niche for me. I can't wait to get started - doing something that I believe is not only doable - but a real creative outlet and great fun all at the same time!

Karen R. - NC

SUCCESS UPDATE: Well, I left the seminar in summer 2008 all fired up to create a recording studio and start searching for voice over work.  The economy began to unwind and the GM dealership where I worked laid me off.  I managed to find work again, but for less pay and less hours.  I put the project on hold.   In September 2009 I found out about an audition with Washington Talking Books. I missed out on the one open position they had available in their talking books department; but they asked me to work instead at their radio station, Evergreen Radio Reading Service.  Since December 2009, I have been producing, editing and recording a 30 minute program that is aired twice a week.  The position is considered volunteer; but I have hopes that after my year commitment is complete, I’ll have the experience and confidence to find voice over work that comes with a paycheck!

I've been told for years that my voice was a great asset. But since I lived in a tiny town deep in the heart of rural Texas, there wasn't any way to pursue the idea of voiceovers until I recently moved to Washington. Thanks for offering the introduction class at a local college and staffing it with Mike Elmore. His sense of humor and knowledge of the voice over profession made it seem like an attainable goal and not just a pipe dream. The Master Class that followed in Portland was professionally conducted and full of all the details and practical advice needed to help get started. John Pruden was a well organized, top notch instructor. He supplied the information and pep talks; now it’s up to me to start my retirement years with a whole new career to look forward to. It started as an idea, but you have helped put feet on that idea! Thank you for the information and most importantly the practice. In fact, I think you should offer a master class 2 and 3 and 4 just to add practice time at the hand of a professional. I also appreciate how helpful everyone has been: teacher, administrator, support staff. Thank you!

Rosalie R. - WA

Not only did I have fun, I learned many invaluable things. Great time, great experience, terrific people..what a blast!

Hillary C. - NC

I attended the intro class over a year before I finally decided to take the master class. During that year, I had many long discussions with Levi. We discussed different aspects of taking the class and doing voice overs. His patience and honesty was so appreciated. I am so grateful I finally took the class. It was so much more than I ever expected it to be.

John Pruden is amazing and I learned so much from him. I am still a newby in every sense of the word. I am seeing for myself how VFA continues to support us all and help us work toward success in our careers. Each email is answered promptly and courteously. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I think you all are THE BEST!! I'm so glad I am now a part of the VFA family.

My Voices For All Master Class was not only extremely educational and informative it was enlightening as well. Andrea, is an incredible instructor who knows exactly what she is doing and is able to answer every question asked without missing a beat. Her energy level is inspiring.

The recording session was an education in itself. I was the first from my class to go, I was not only nervous but I had this intense adrenal rush. Andrea, knew exactly how to bring out the best qualities of my voice for what I was reading.

Thank you Voices For All for the unforgetable experience. It was truly amazing!

SUCCESS UPDATE: I completed the Master Class shortly after retiring from 37 years in a profession that involved many public presentations. For years people have been generous with praise for the voice I have been given, and retirement seemed to be a good time to see if I could put my voice to work in a different way. An interesting opportunity came my way from our next door neighbor who works for a state government department where her job is to seek out federal government grants. Instead of merely filling in the forms she decided to create and produce a video presentation that would accompany her annual application. She asked her boss to write a song and sing it. Other co-workers provided expertise for filming and recording, she gathered dozens of photographs, and then she put it altogether. "You took some kind of a class, didn't you?" she asked one day. "Would you be willing to do the narration?" I was more than willing. I volunteered, in the same way her boss and co-workers volunteered, and together we created a mighty fine video presentation. She gave me a $49 gift certificate to a bookstore to show her appreciation because if she would have given me $50 or more the bureaucratic wheels of government might have screeched to a halt. Oh, lest I forget, the grant application accompanied by the video narrated by a Voices For All Master Class graduate earned $11,000,000 for her department!
Voices For All is staffed by capable and kind people. I've met John Pruden in the introductory class, and he is a great voice talent as well as a fine instructor. Andrea Langworthy taught the Master Level class, and she is an excellent teacher who motivated and stretched all of us. I've corresponded with Paul Benedetti via email with technical questions about computers, Pro Tools Software, and microphones. He gently took me by the hand online to teach me what I needed to know. I'm greatly impressed with these people and how they make their organization work!

Paul L. - WA

The Voices For All Master Class in NY was a tremendous learning experience for me. Even with many years of experience as a teacher and semi-professional actor, the coaching and direction that I received from Andrea Langworthy was invaluable. She is terrific. I also enjoyed the interaction with the other students in the class. The Master Class Workbook is a wonderful resource guide that is always there for you to use, and I will be referring to it often as I go about building a home business in this field. The dedicated staff at Voices For All is always there for help, too.

Several years ago, I decided I wanted to be "the voice on the tape" (dating myself, I know) but I didn't have a clue how to get started. Last Fall there was an "Introduction to Voice Overs" class at our local junior college and I immediately signed up. On the day of the class, we had a really bad wind storm and everything was flying. I lived over 40 miles away and didn't want to take the chance of finding me and my car in a ditch. FORTUNATELY, they were offering it again in the Spring. I got to go!!! Mike Elmore was great and gave me enough information to know I'd really like to go forward. I was offered a seat in the Masters Class and jumped at it. A little costly? Perhaps. Worth it? You bet!!! My thoughts? All I can say is "WOW!" John Pruden put out a ton of information in a short period of time! He's very sharp, intuitive, and knows how to get the best out of you... and teaches you to do the same. But even though the information well reached critical mass, it must have sunk in because when it came time to recording in the sound booth, it was natural place to be after a few minutes of nerves. Oh yes, credit needs to go to Andrea too. All the arrangements went smoothly (which seldom happens). I have to say that my "dance card" is a little full right now (and I do have to sleep sometime) but when it empties out a little bit, I'll be off and running with my new career. Thanks to all at Voices For All!!!!!

Linda L. - WA

I experienced a fun filled and highly educational class. I looked foward to class each day. Our instructor, John, really knew his stuff and made our time pleasant.

The recording session was an education in itself. John knew how to bring out the best in my voice.

Thanks for the wonderful experience.

Richard R. - CA

I attended the VFA Master Class in Chicago and was really blown away by the whole experience. John Pruden is very knowledgeable of the voice over industry and was a great coach; he did a tremendous job of bringing out the best in each of us, and he had very good instincts about matching each student to appropriate scripts for practice and the final recording session. And, speaking of the recording session, this was definitely the highlight of the entire class. I was a little apprehensive about how well that would go, after only a few days of training, but I was amazed at how relaxed and comfortable I was with it, thanks to John's preparation and coaching. I heartily recommend this class to anyone considering voice over as a career or even as a part-time endeavor. I learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Randy B. - MO

I attended the Voices For All introductory class at a local community college and realized right away that a career in voice overs would be a great fit for me. I went home and signed up for the Master Class the next day, which also was phenomenal. I received great training from a voice over professional - the class was not only extremely informative, it was FUN, too! From the introductory course, to the Master Class and right through to the actual demo recording, the entire staff at Voices For All has been extremely professional and enjoyable to work and collaborate with. Thanks so much!

Katie O. - WA

Thank you, Voices For All Staff, for the GREAT weekend! It was informative and FUN! This was a wonderful start to a new career!

Lynn R. - MI

John and the rest of the VFA team have given me the tools and support to succeed!

Nathan H. - MN

Thank you VFA Staff! The introductory class at a local University was fun and inviting, and the Master Class was Awesome! John was an incredible instructor, answering every question professionally and with great enthusiasm. The workbook is phenomonally thorough regarding all aspects of the business. The VFA staff support and encouragement before and after the class makes it all worth it! The education I have received from Voices For All will be the difference between sitting on the sidelines and getting in the game!

A truly amazing experience...from the initial introductory class to the Master Class in Albany, NY. Not knowing what to expect, I was truly impressed with the professionalism and the wealth of knowledge made available in such a short time frame. Andrea was outstanding as the main instructor and the entire crew were helpful and friendly. And I have since found that true to their word, everyone is available for followup and instruction with every question that I have presented. I am thrilled with my demo and and very anxious to get my home studio set up. I thank everyone involved for their expertise, knowledge and in particular the ongoing followup.

Elise M. - FL

SUCCESS UPDATE UPDATE: Paul, tell the gang I just nailed another VO. This time for a Nintendo video game!!!! I am the main character Margot of Margot's Word Brain. It's a hoot! I'm actually very excited about it, since the recording included narration for PC, PS2, WII, and DS systems. The folks are even going to send me a copy of the game (which will be a bit surreal, I'm thinking). As always, I appreciate your advice. Being able to tap your brain on occasion is one of the best parts of the VO Masterclass investment! Hope all is well with you. Thanks, as always, for your help!

SUCCESS UPDATE: Hi guys! Wanted to let you know the latest...Todate, I've done on-hold messages for Madeira Station and the narration of flash presentations for several Glencoe/McGraw-Hill textbooks. Future ventures include more flash presentations for the educational industry (I've got about 20 more hours on the docket...ka-ching!), expanding within my hometown market, and even recording an album. Of course, I'm still trying to get in with the Big Leaguers on the national level and send my demo out to several job postings a week. Just last week, I received some very encouraging feedback from one potential client complimenting me on the demo (but alas, he opted to go with a male VO talent). VFA is AMAZING (kudos ESPECIALLY to Paul and John) and continues to be instrumental in the success of my VO career. Thanks as always, y'all! -Leah

Dear Stan, Andrea, Paul, Brett, John, Mike, Eric, & Levi... I just wanted to THANK YOU for such a great weekend of training. Because each of your backgrounds are so diverse, everyone at VFA had something a bit different to share. I really appreciate your willingness & enthusiasm in doing so. If only all my trainings could be filled with so much learning & laughter! I look forward to staying in touch with all of you as I develop my VO career. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, give me a ring! Happy to be known as a "100% Satisfied Customer".

Leah F. - OH

The class was everything I thought it would be. Not only did I gain valuable information, but also our class really bonded. It's nice to know you have support in this endeavor from everyone at Voices For All, to my new friends from class.

Kristine P. - PA

I couldn't have asked for a better instructor or class to get started on the right foot for voice acting! Thank you John for all of your valuable input and support! After taking the Voices For All Master Class, I have a realistic expectation of what it takes to do this right and have a new found confidence that I can be a success in this business. Again Thank you!

Cheri M. - OR

The Master Class Weekend was a hoot! I had so much fun with Andrea and my fellow students. The recording session was the icing on the cake. Thanks for all of your direction and patience, Andrea!

Renee I. - CA

When I first considered the Master class, I was a little shocked by the cost. Having attended it, I can say IT WAS WELL WORTH THE COST! If you are serious about becoming a voice artist, you must attend this class! It begins from the beginning, "I want to do voice over, now what?" and covers how to interpret and deliver scripts with the appropriate emotion, how to set up and run your own recording studio and how to market your business. If that isn't enough, you also receive two outstanding demos complete with direction and music! The two demos alone are worth the cost of the class! Also, my instructor, Andrea, was awesome! She was genuinely interested in your success and was a wealth of helpful information. Perhaps the most amazing thing about her was the fact that she always found something positive to say about your performance even when you were certain you completely bombed.

Any field you decide to undertake will require training in order to excel. The Master's Class is a necessary training investment for anyone who is serious about becoming a voice artist.

Von G. - NJ

All the VFA staff are really dedicated professionals. They are great sources of information and seem to want all their students to succeed. Even when they are getting daily emails asking for advice they take the time to answer and be helpful. The Master Class is packed with good info but there is still a LOT to do before we are ready to start recording in our home studios! Expect to put in plenty of time in the weeks following the class getting your marketing materials, software and equipment together. It is somewhat daunting but with staff's assistance, it can be done and I think the rewards will be excellent down the road. I look forward to that!

Carol N. - FL

Voices For All gave me the knowledge and tools to pursue my new career--and most importantly, the confidence! Andrea was a fantastic instructor--thanks, Voices For All!

Allyson L. - CA

Sent out only 2 demos, and had my first job! Thanks everyone.

Betsy B. - MI

SUCCESS UPDATE: I decided to send out my demos first before getting into the home studio. I cannot tell you how excited I was to get a call after only sending out ten demo packets!! The call was from a local sound equipment company who was creating a DVD explaining how to put together a church sound system, step by step. They needed someone to do an intro. and outro. The company owner told me he was ready to hire someobdy in another state because he did not know anyone locally who did voiceovers. He received my CD and I got my first job in the industry! I recorded in a small sound booth using the client's equipment. I felt confident about the recording session after having gone through the class. The DVD has gone to over 200 churches across the country and can be purchased by many more. I was not only exhilarated, but proud.
My experience during the Voices For All Master Class was a very positive one. It involved two days jammed packed with information about the voiceover industry, and it was all summed up in a very precise notebook, which we took home. Among the topics covered, which I found of particular interest, was information on how to put a demo packet together to send out to potential clients. Everything from examples of resumes to different kinds of business cards were discussed. A marketing strategy was also discussed along with ideas on who to send your demo package to, and how to sell yourself. Considering that a demo pack is essential to getting involved in the industry, I needed this information without question. The recording session on our last day was also a must for anyone wanting to go into the voiceover industry. Not only did it provide our first attempt to record professionally, it also ultimately provided the CD to send out to potential clients. Our instructor was there every inch of the way, making sure we understood the scripts. She provided helpful ideas on how to use our voices to get the recordings we wanted.
