Aaron Fischer was my voice coach for the Bronze Master Classes. He was knowledgeable, professional and very patient, always answering my many questions every week. I would recommend him highly for other students. Jeff W. was my technological advisor and went above my expectations in every way. He even helped me fix my website when the demos did not work right. Voices for All is a great company, and I hope to add another testimonial soon, telling everyone about my new voice acting gigs. Thanks to all the great people at VFA.
Good day, I would like to thank everyone at VFA and especially my coach, Eric Smies, who I immediately connected with on a professional level. I liked the way he taught me ways to make my voice come alive incorporating his theater and drama training. He was very enthusiastic and each session seemed to fly by! I gained a lot of knowledge and I am still digesting everything that I learned. If you ever wanted to be a voice actor, please give Voice for All a chance to allow you to be what you have always wanted to be! Thank you!!!
About twelve years ago, I was told by an instructor in an acting class that I would be good at voiceovers. I had no idea at the time just how it worked. Now, I see the potential that has been created by the digital world. The knowledge I've gained regarding recording and editing is beneficial to me in the music world as well as the pursuit of voiceover work. Having just completed the Master Class, I am still a rookie but I know I have lifetime support. Sessions via Zoom with a voiceover professional can't be beat. I'll be back to give more testimonial when I start landing voiceover work.
I just finished the Gold level 27 week class. I cannot imagine a better use of the tuition for someone getting into VO than the VFA program. My instructor Eric Smies, with his rich industry background was incredible! His teaching method made every session something I looked forward to each week, and his creativity and honest appraisals of my work were invaluable in giving me what I consider to be a rock solid foundation on which to build my career. VFA provides everything necessary. The studio package is fabulous, and their guidelines for setting up the home studio gave me a top notch and functional working area. I do recommend the extra one-to-one support in setting up software and integration into your computer. I worked with Jeff Wildermuth who is nothing short of a magician. VFA is a first cabin operation. For those interested in this exciting field, I give it my highest recommendation.
Here I am 10 years down the road and I'm finally ready to start doing something with the awesome training I received from the stellar Andrea L. and the encouragement of Eric H., back in 2010. While I DID voice a nice 30 second local TV spot out in Arizona back then, full-time employment as a design draftsman and participating in my kids' activities was more important. But now I'm back in the studio, as serendipity presented me with my first audio book. Retirement looms for me this year and VO was part of our plan for it. The author for whom I'm recording watched me do a live performance of one of her characters during a book signing event and loved the raw emotion I brought to the reading, as well as the slight German accent I employed (I am not German, but I loved Hogan's Heroes). Fast forward six months and we're sitting in a local eatery after a Colonial era event in town and it comes up casually that I was trained in voice over and her eyes lit up. She has authored 19 books and has a series of historical fiction that she just placed on ACX.com and she asked me to sign up so I could audition for them. I did just that, they listened to my demos of the first 15 minutes of Chapters 1 and 2, and now they like me for the whole series! I have to admit, it's a bit daunting since my experience has been 30-60 seconds versus a cumulative 2.5 hours, But I'm hitting a good stride halfway in. So much so, that if I have time in the schedule I might go back and re-do the first chapter or two! After all this time, my VFA training has stayed with me. I even remembered my login credentials! I still have most of the materials from then, and anything else I can easily get right here at the website. Thanks again. I'm really starting to enjoy my new VO-cation!
My experience with Voices For All has been great -- from the first intro class with Eric at Citrus Community College through the Bronze Master Class with Lori Hauser. Lori is an excellent teacher and coach, who helped me bring out the best in my voice. Moreover, as a working voice actress, she is savvy about the industry, and generous with her knowledge. Her advice helped me in getting set up on casting sites and (very importantly) avoiding some pitfalls. Jeff in tech support was also excellent -- a big help as I was setting up my home studio and struggling with ProTools at first. A tech session with Jeff got me up and running! Everyone that I've interacted with on the VFA team has been super helpful. Right before I finished the Master Class, I booked and completed my first audiobook (and got paid! that felt good). Lori's coaching and advice was key to my success. Thank you to the whole VFA team.
